TERMS OF SERVICE

 

General Cleaning

  • Please note that Future Tense requires you to provide trash and/or wastebasket bags and paper towels for EACH cleaning. Otherwise, we are fully equipped and supplied.
  • (For clients with regularly recurring cleanings): In the event of one or more cancellations, please understand that your next cleaning may take longer than expected, and will therefore incur additional charges.
  • Changes in circumstance including, (but not limited to), addition of pets, babies, family members/house guests, time spent at home, changes in habits, etc., can drastically affect the amount of time needed to clean a home. If at any point such changes occur, your cleaning crew may require additional time to complete your cleanings, in which case additional fees may apply. 
  • Cluttered surfaces (surfaces holding an unusual amount of items) take substantially longer to clean than uncluttered surfaces, or may be impossible to clean in a way which maintains the integrity and order of the items in question. Cluttered surfaces may therefore be left untouched at the discretion of the cleaning crew. 
  • Items left on the floor or otherwise out of place in any space to be cleaned must be picked up and/or put away in order to properly complete a cleaning. Spaces which require a significant amount of time for the cleaning crew to pick up and/or put away out-of-place items may increase the overall amount of time it takes to complete the cleaning, in which case additional fees may apply. 
  • Personal work desktops and other home or business office areas, particularly those upon which there are personal documents of any kind, may be left untouched at the discretion of the cleaning crew. 
  • Pest Infestations discovered in the home, and any surrounding affected areas may be left untouched at the discretion of the cleaning crew.
  • Invaluables, antiques, irreplaceable items, and all items held in high personal esteem should be safely stored in an area which is not to be cleaned. Any such items remaining in areas which are to be cleaned MUST be clearly indicated to the cleaning crew at each cleaning. Such items and their immediate vicinity may be left untouched at the discretion of the cleaning crew. 
  • Broken or unsecured items including but not limited to loosely hung/propped frames, mirrors, light fixtures, items with cracks/chips of any kind may be difficult or impossible to clean in a way which maintains the integrity of the item and may be left untouched at the discretion of the cleaning crew.
    • It is your responsibility to inform your Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crew of any broken or damaged items (belongings, windows, fixtures, pieces of furniture, etc.), that exist in a space to be cleaned. If the cleaning crew is not informed of a broken item(s), Future Tense Unlimited assumes NO responsibility for further damage to the item(s).
  • Trash is generally collected from around the home or business and disposed of in a specified, easily accessible location, such as a curbside can, at each cleaning. The cleaning crew must be informed of the location of the outside can. If the cleaning crew is unable to find or access the outside can, any trash collected during the cleaning may be left inside or just outside the home or business at the discretion of the cleaning crew.

Scheduling & Arrival Times

  • Future Tense Unlimited reaches out to clients prior to the beginning of each month with proposed dates for cleaning. Unless you have a permanent time slot, in which case we will arrive within the window of time you have been notified of.  While every effort will be made to accommodate last-minute and short-notice bookings, Future Tense Unlimited cannot guarantee any unconfirmed dates.
  • The number of cleaners in each Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crew varies depending on the number and length of jobs to be completed per day. As such, the number of cleaners in the crew arriving to complete your cleaning may vary from week to week. 
  • Each client will receive a window of time for our arrival for each scheduled cleaning. In the event of unusual traffic or other hold-ups, Future Tense will make every effort to communicate why we are late, and when we are expecting to arrive.
  • In the rare event of unforeseeable events (natural disaster, road closures, inclement weather, etc.), Future Tense will reschedule your cleaning as soon as possible.

 

Cancellations

  • Cancellations / Rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice will incur a fee equal to 50% of your cleaning price.
  • Lock-out / At the door cancellations will be charged at 100% of the cleaning fee.

 

Communication 

  • Open Communication: At Future Tense Unlimited, we believe that communication is essential to ensure client satisfaction. Please feel free to reach out at any time with any concerns, comments, questions or feedback you may have. 
  • Hours of Operation: Future Tense Unlimited responds to most schedule requests, cancellations, and general inquiries as quickly as possible between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Inquiries regarding a cleaning scheduled on the weekend may be answered any day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please note that any inquiries or messages outside of these hours may not be received or addressed until the next business day.

 

Quality Guarantee

  • Dissatisfaction: If you find that you are unsatisfied with your cleaning, please let us know within 24 hours so that we can address the issue in a timely manner. 
  • Open windows: Please note that homes with open windows/doors tend to accumulate dirt and dust much faster than those with closed windows/doors. Dust from an open window can often accumulate on a freshly cleaned and polished surface within even the first few minutes of cleaning. 
  • Natural & Special Request Products: Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crews are highly trained to determine which products and tools are most effective for the types of cleaning we provide. We use a majority of non-toxic cleaning products.  We are more than happy to accommodate requests to use either your specified product(s) or to use only our environmentally-friendly alternatives in your home; however, use of such products may not be as effective as what we typically provide and use. 

 

Damages

  • Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crews are highly trained to handle your belongings with the utmost care. However, sometimes items may be misplaced, damaged or broken during a cleaning, in which case you will be informed of the error.
  • If you believe that Future Tense has unknowingly misplaced, damaged or broken something in your home, please contact us within 24 hours so that the issue can be addressed in a timely manner. 
  • Future Tense Unlimited is able to offer compensation for broken or damaged items with proof of value. We are insured.  Please remove any irreplaceable/antique items the day of the clean.

 

Client Safety 

  • Future Tense Unlimited assumes NO responsibility for the safety of any adults, children or pets in the home while the cleaning crew is present.
  • Wet floors present a slip hazard for any occupants of the home during and for some period of time after a cleaning takes place. Please exercise extreme caution while cleaning crews are present.
  • Cleaning supplies and tools present a trip hazard for any occupants of the home during a cleaning. Please exercise extreme caution while cleaning crews are present.
    • Children must be closely supervised by appropriate guardians throughout the duration of your cleaning. Future Tense cleaning crews come equipped with many cleaning products, tools and supplies which may pose a safety hazard to children. 
    • Pets must be contained or closely supervised by appropriate guardians throughout the duration of your cleaning. Future Tense cleaning crews come equipped with many cleaning products, tools and supplies which may pose a safety hazard to pets. 
      • Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crews are NOT responsible for the escape of pets while crews are entering/exiting the home.
      • Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crews are NOT responsible for the handling of pets in any way.
  • Locking the Home:
    • Future Tense Unlimited cleaning crews will make every effort to secure your home as instructed after each cleaning.
    • If you are not present for a cleaning, your cleaning crew must be informed of which doors/windows must be closed/locked, and provided with the appropriate keys/codes to do so. 
    • Doors/windows which are unusually difficult to close/lock may be left open/unlocked at the discretion of the cleaning crew, in which case your cleaning crew will make an immediate effort to communicate with you. Please note that cleaning crews are unable to remain on the property for any amount of time after the cleaning. 

 

Products and Supplies

  • Please note that Future Tense requires you to provide trash and/or wastebasket bags and paper towels for EACH cleaning. Otherwise, we are fully equipped and supplied.
  • If you prefer that we ONLY use environmentally-friendly products in your home, we are happy to accommodate this request.  Please see the Special Requests section for more details.

 

Special Requests

Future Tense Unlimited is happy to accommodate the following special requests

 

  • Use of your provided cleaning products or supplies at no charge (not including hazardous chemicals)
  • Use of your provided steam mop (additional fee to be determined upon request)
    • Steam-mopping a home can take roughly twice as long as mopping with a standard mop. 
  • Use of our provided Environmentally-friendly cleaning products 

 

Restrictions

At this time, Future Tense Unlimited is unable to provide the following services

 

  • Removal or handling of unusually hazardous or toxic waste (dangerous chemicals, vomit, animal feces, etc.)
  • Removal or handling of any pests or infestations of any kind 
  • Cleaning/emptying of children’s toilets
  • Litter box emptying / cleaning
  • Ceiling cleaning
  • Waxing of floors, furniture, etc.
  • Mold treatments
  • Cleaning of outside windows which cannot be accessed from a secure location
  • Lifting or moving any heavy furniture, mattresses, etc.
  • Removal of trash or recycling from any property
  • Moving or handling of any outdoor trash cans* (except vacation rentals)
  • Barbecue cleaning* (except vacation rentals)

 

Payment Policy

  • Please note that GE tax will be added  to the total price of each cleaning
  • Please note that returned checks will incur a fee of $50 in addition to the total price of the cleaning. 
  • Payments are accepted in the form of:
    • Cash or check made out to Future Tense Unlimited LLC at the time of service 
    •  Invoice day of service, with option to pay with EFT
    •  Invoice  day of service with option to pay with Credit or debit card (with 3% additional fee)
